We live in such a beautiful world, we want to do our part to keep it that way, so over the years, we have continually worked on making changes that have a positive impact on our environment. While it is a process, and not always the simplest (or least expensive!) choices, we are proud of what we have accomplished and where we are heading in the future. Here are some ways we are green: We have an extensive recycling program. Guest are shown upon check in where the recycling bin is located. Bathrooms are equipped with refillable shampoo, conditioner, and lotion dis-pensers to reduce plastic production. We use environmentally safe laundry soap and cleaning supplies. We don’t use any disposable food service items, such as paper and plastic cups, utensils and plates (unless guests need to take something to go). Many of our inn's lights are Compact Fluorescent Lights and we are working toward replacing more. Our linen and towel re-use program greatly reduces laundry detergent and water usage. All usable items are donated to local non-profit organizations (furniture, towels and linens, lost and found items, etc.). Many of our appliances and equipment are energy efficient models or will be re-placed by an energy efficient model when the time comes to re-purchase. We planted the back 7 acres in drought tolerant grasses.
