OVERNIGHT FRENCH TOAST
Servings: One (if you're really hungery)
This is a delicious and different way to have French Toast
1 thick cut piece of dense, day old bread (cut 1 inch thick)
1 egg
¾ cup half and half
maple syrup to taste
pinch salt
3 or 4 Tbsp butter
Whiz egg, half and half, maple syrup and salt. Place bread
in dish that is just a little bigger than bread. Pour liquid
over bread and cover with plastic wrap. Place in refrigerator
overnight. Next morning, melt butter in frying pan. Carefully
transfer soaked bread into pan and cover. Cook on lowest heat
on stove top for 20 minutes. Carefully flip (I use two spatulas)
and cook 10 more minutes. Serve with powdered sugar and more
maple syrup and butter.
